Talk with MERICS Head of Research Kristin Shi-Kupfer

This week's guest at Superwoman on F15' | by ForbesDACH is Kristin Shi-Kupfer, head of the research areas politics and society at MERICS. While her interest in China was originally awakened by the country's history, today Kristin Shi-Kupfer's research focuses on the digital society, religious politics, social change and related social conflicts in China. She is head of research at the independent think tank Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin, where she is responsible for the areas of politics and society. In an interview with aizu founder Aileen Zumstein on the digital channel F15' |, Shi-Kupfer talks about the "certain inner conflict" she experiences in the context of the trade war between the US and China. She also shows why in the course of the corona crisis data protection increasingly becomes a topic of discussion in China and explains why political advancement for women is still very difficult despite their increasing presence in economic and social leadership positions.
