License to cheat

Roberto Weber is Professor in Behavioral Economics at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich. He has studied how individuals decide to do something unethical and how regulations affect people’s decisions to this. Results show that when one has the opportunity to avoid being regulated, the result is a license to cheat that facilitates unethical conduct. In the first edition of the Oec Magazine he talks about strengthening financial regulations to rebuild trust.
